Selling/Redeeming Packages

Packages are discounted services “bundled” together into an incentive package that’s to be used within a certain time period. They can be used to give clients an incentive to try new services that you want to promote, or encourage them to come back weekly or monthly by offering multiple use of a service at a discounted price.

You must have the Package set up and available.  See Packages: Set Up for setup instructions.
 
Selling a package…

The entire cost of the Package must be prepaid. The system will keep track of usage of services.
1.     Manage screen
2.     Select the client name from the Open Tickets column, or create a ticket with the New Ticket button if the client doesn’t have an open ticket.
3.     On the sales ticket, click + Specials and choose Package in the pop-up.


4.     Select the correct package using the search box or drop-down box.
5.     Start Date: Today’s date is the default, but it can be changed by using the calendar icon to select a different date.
Examples:
  • If the package is a gift, the buyer may want to begin activation after the recipient receives it.
6.     The Clients field is the person who will use the package. The system defaults to the person buying the package unless you change it. If the package is a gift, delete the buyer’s name by clicking the red minus icon next to the name and then click Add Client. Enter the name of the person who will use the package.
  •  If it’s a new client, you’ll be asked for basic information. Enter the data and click Add Client.
7.     Click Add Package and It will be added to the sales ticket.
8.     Proceed to close out the ticket as usual.

Redeeming a Package:

Booking the appointment
When booking an appointment for a package, select the service(s) individually, the way you usually do on the scheduling screen. If that client has bought a package, the system will recognize the package components and charge accordingly.

If a client books the components of a package but has not purchased the package, those services will be charged full price at checkout. However, the client may both purchase and apply the package at checkout to receive the discounted price. The package price will be added to the sales ticket, and the appropriate services will be discounted. It’s up to you whether to allow this for services pre-booked before the package was announced or promoted.

Process payment at checkout:

1.     Tickets screen
2.     Select the client’s name from the Open Tickets column.
3.     If the package is already paid for, the applicable services will be identified on the sales ticket and discounted to $0.00. For packages with multiple services attached to them, the software will keep track of the services used.


Note: If the client is buying the package and using the services on the same day, add the package to the ticket using the steps above to purchase a package. The sales ticket will then show the package purchase price as well as $0.00 for services.

4.     Process the sales ticket as usual. You may add a tip even when the ticket shows no charge for services.
5.     Your desk staff will be reminded of any product promotions tied to a service in the package.
